About Zylos App Manager
Zylos App Manager lists the apps you can open from your home screen with their size, version and last use, shows storage by category, which apps can use your camera, location or microphone, and what was installed lately, finds large and unused apps, and walks you through reviewing and uninstalling several at once. Everything is read on your phone.
What you can do
- Every app you can open from the home screen, with size, version and last use.
- Search, and sort by name, size, least used or newest.
- Large apps (200 MB or more).
- Unused apps — not opened for 30 days (needs Usage access).
- New apps from the last 14 days.
- Select apps and review them: see the space you'll free before anything starts.
- Android shows its own confirmation for each one; the app walks you through them with progress and “Stop after this one”, then shows the space freed and what was kept.
- What your apps use in total and by category, the largest apps and the ones you haven't opened in 30 days.
- See which apps are allowed your camera, location, microphone, contacts and more — then change it in Android's App info.
- New and updated apps, newest first, and the ones that came from outside an app store.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. Every feature of the app works without an account. A Zylos account is optional and only adds a cloud backup, so you can restore your data on a new phone.
- Open Settings → Account and sign in with Google, create an account with email and password, or continue as a guest.
- One Zylos account works across all Zylos apps; each keeps its own backup.
What is backed up, and how do I restore it?
While you are signed in, the app backs up: app settings (theme, colour mood, language, haptics).
- Never backed up: your app list and usage (read from Android, never stored); launch and review counters, ad timing.
- Backups run automatically when something changed (at most every 10 minutes while the app is open, and when it goes to the background).
- To restore, install the app on the new phone and sign in with the same account in Settings → Account; the app offers to restore the saved data. A guest account can only be restored on the phone that created it, so link it to Google first if you plan to switch phones.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your sign-in, your profile and every Zylos backup at once.
- Without the app: go to apps.zylostechsolutions.com/delete-account, sign in with the same account and confirm.
- Data stored only on your phone is removed when you uninstall the app (or use Android Settings → Apps → Zylos App Manager → Storage → Clear storage).
- Signing out is not deleting: your backup stays for the next time you sign in.
How do I turn notifications and quick actions on or off?
Occasional announcements (new features, tips) are sent to everyone with the app — never targeted at you personally. On Android 13 and later the app asks for notification permission once, from your third launch, and not again if you say no.
- Quick actions: a silent notification with shortcuts into the app. Turn it on or off in the app's Settings → Quick actions in notifications.
- Tips and reminders: occasional local tips about features you haven't tried. Turn them off in Settings → Tips and reminders.
- To stop all notifications, turn them off for Zylos App Manager in your phone's Settings → Apps → Notifications.
Why do I see ads?
The app is free, and ads from Google AdMob pay for it. Banners appear below the app list, app details, the permissions explorer, install history and Settings, and a native ad (labelled "Ad") may appear on the storage overview and the uninstall result. A full-screen ad may appear occasionally when you open the permissions explorer or leave the uninstall result, and at most once per 4 hours when the app starts (never the first time). No ads on the uninstall review, and never while Android's uninstall confirmation is open.
- Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience (maximum ad content rating “PG”).
How do I change my ad consent or personalisation?
Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and some US states), Google's consent form appears before any ad loads.
- To change your choice later: Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices (shown where Google says privacy options are required).
- You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads, and manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Which permissions does the app use, and why?
Request to uninstall apps — Asking Android to uninstall the apps you select. Android shows its own confirmation for each app.
- Usage access (optional, you grant it in Settings) — Showing data and cache sizes and when each app was last used.
- Notifications (Android 13+) — Occasional feature tips, asked once after your first finished uninstall. Optional. Also occasional announcements from us, asked for at most once and never before your third launch.
- Run at startup — Keeping scheduled tips after the phone restarts.
- Network access — Loads ads from Google AdMob. If you sign in, it also carries your backup.
- Advertising ID / Android ad services — added by Google's ads SDK; controlled by your consent and your phone's ad settings.
- You can change any permission in your phone's settings; the app keeps working without the optional ones. The full list, with technical names, is in the privacy policy.
What information do you collect?
Your app list, app sizes and last-use times are read from Android on your phone and never uploaded.
- Android asks you to confirm every uninstall; the app can't remove anything silently.
- Usage access is optional — it adds data/cache sizes and last use.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects device and ad-interaction data under Google's policies, with Google's consent form where required.
- Details: privacy policy.
