Zylos App Restore support

About Zylos App Restore

Zylos App Restore backs up installed apps' install files on your phone and reinstalls them later with Android's own install screen — including apps you've since uninstalled. It also explains what a backup includes, shows a summary after each backup, manages backup storage and guides you through moving backups to a new phone.

What you can do

Android only; not offered on the App Store.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. Every feature of the app works without an account. A Zylos account is optional and only adds a cloud backup, so you can restore your data on a new phone.

  • Open Settings → Account and sign in with Google, create an account with email and password, or continue as a guest.
  • One Zylos account works across all Zylos apps; each keeps its own backup.
What is backed up, and how do I restore it?

While you are signed in, the app backs up: app settings (theme, colour mood, language, haptics, whether the backup intro was seen).

  • Never backed up: the app backups themselves (install files stay on the phone); launch and review counters, ad timing.
  • Backups run automatically when something changed (at most every 10 minutes while the app is open, and when it goes to the background).
  • To restore, install the app on the new phone and sign in with the same account in Settings → Account; the app offers to restore the saved data. A guest account can only be restored on the phone that created it, so link it to Google first if you plan to switch phones.
How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your sign-in, your profile and every Zylos backup at once.

  • Without the app: go to apps.zylostechsolutions.com/delete-account, sign in with the same account and confirm.
  • Data stored only on your phone is removed when you uninstall the app (or use Android Settings → Apps → Zylos App Restore → Storage → Clear storage).
  • Signing out is not deleting: your backup stays for the next time you sign in.
How do I turn notifications and quick actions on or off?

Occasional announcements (new features, tips) are sent to everyone with the app — never targeted at you personally. On Android 13 and later the app asks for notification permission once, from your third launch, and not again if you say no.

  • Quick actions: a silent notification with shortcuts into the app. Turn it on or off in the app's Settings → Quick actions in notifications.
  • Tips and reminders: occasional local tips about features you haven't tried. Turn them off in Settings → Tips and reminders.
  • To stop all notifications, turn them off for Zylos App Restore in your phone's Settings → Apps → Notifications.
Why do I see ads?

The app is free, and ads from Google AdMob pay for it. Banners appear on the backups list, the Back up tab, an app's backups, uninstalled apps and Settings, and a native ad (labelled "Ad") may appear on the backup summary and backup storage screens. A full-screen ad may appear occasionally when you tap Done after a backup or a successful restore, or move forward to another screen, and at most once per 4 hours when the app starts (never the first time). No ads during backups or restores, over Android's install screen or the "Install unknown apps" setting, on the first-backup explanation or the new-phone guide.

  • Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience (maximum ad content rating “PG”).
How do I change my ad consent or personalisation?

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and some US states), Google's consent form appears before any ad loads.

  • To change your choice later: Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices (shown where Google says privacy options are required).
  • You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads, and manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Which permissions does the app use, and why?

Install unknown apps (you allow it in Settings) — Reinstalling an app from your backup. Android shows its own install screen each time.

  • Notifications (Android 13+) — Occasional feature tips, asked once after your first finished backup. Optional. Also occasional announcements from us, asked for at most once and never before your third launch.
  • Network access — Loads ads from Google AdMob. If you sign in, it also carries your backup.
  • Advertising ID / Android ad services — added by Google's ads SDK; controlled by your consent and your phone's ad settings.
  • You can change any permission in your phone's settings; the app keeps working without the optional ones. The full list, with technical names, is in the privacy policy.
What information do you collect?

Backups are copies of apps' install files, stored inside App Restore on your phone. They are never uploaded.

  • App data, accounts and logins are never read or saved.
  • Android shows its own install screen every time; App Restore needs “Install unknown apps” allowed to reinstall.
  • Uninstalling App Restore deletes your backups — share a backup first if you want to keep a copy.
