Zylos Calendar support

About Zylos Calendar

Zylos Calendar is a calendar, task, reminder and focus-timer app with quick add, routines and a weekly review. Everything you enter is stored on your device. If you sign in to an optional Zylos account, a backup is kept in that account so you can restore it on another phone.

What you can do

Available for Android and iOS. The two versions handle data the same way, except where noted.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. Every feature of the app works without an account. A Zylos account is optional and only adds a cloud backup, so you can restore your data on a new phone.

  • Open Settings → Account and sign in with Google, create an account with email and password, or continue as a guest.
  • One Zylos account works across all Zylos apps; each keeps its own backup.
What is backed up, and how do I restore it?

While you are signed in, the app backs up: your tasks and meetings (titles, notes, location text, times, reminders, repeat rules); categories and routines; completion times and focus sessions; your settings.

  • Never backed up: launch and review-prompt counters; ad timing.
  • Backups run automatically when something changed (at most every 10 minutes while the app is open, and when it goes to the background).
  • To restore, install the app on the new phone and sign in with the same account in Settings → Account; the app offers to restore the saved data. A guest account can only be restored on the phone that created it, so link it to Google first if you plan to switch phones.
How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your sign-in, your profile and every Zylos backup at once.

  • Without the app: go to apps.zylostechsolutions.com/delete-account, sign in with the same account and confirm.
  • Data stored only on your phone is removed when you uninstall the app (or use Android Settings → Apps → Zylos Calendar → Storage → Clear storage).
  • Signing out is not deleting: your backup stays for the next time you sign in.
How do I turn notifications and quick actions on or off?

Occasional announcements (new features, tips) are sent to everyone with the app — never targeted at you personally. On Android 13 and later the app asks for notification permission once, from your third launch, and not again if you say no.

  • Quick actions: a silent notification with shortcuts into the app. Turn it on or off in the app's Settings → Quick actions in notifications.
  • Tips and reminders: occasional local tips about features you haven't tried. Turn them off in Settings → Tips and reminders.
  • To stop all notifications, turn them off for Zylos Calendar in your phone's Settings → Apps → Notifications.
Why do I see ads?

The app is free, and ads from Google AdMob pay for it. Banners appear at the bottom of the tabs (including the calendar in month and agenda view, stats and settings) and item details, and a native ad (labelled "Ad") may appear on Stats and the weekly review. A full-screen ad may appear occasionally when you move forward to another screen, open the weekly review or continue after a finished focus session (at most one per two actions, never in the first minute), and at most once per 4 hours when the app starts (never the first time). No ads while you type (editor, quick add, routines) or during a running focus timer or break.

  • Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience (maximum ad content rating “PG”).
How do I change my ad consent or personalisation?

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and some US states), Google's consent form appears before any ad loads.

  • To change your choice later: Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices (shown where Google says privacy options are required).
  • You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads, and manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Which permissions does the app use, and why?

Notifications (Android 13+) — Shows the reminders you set, and occasional announcements from us. Asked after onboarding; optional — without it reminders don't appear.

  • Alarms & reminders — Delivers each reminder at the exact minute you chose, as a calendar app must.
  • Run at startup — Re-schedules your reminders after the phone restarts.
  • Network access — Loads ads from Google AdMob. If you sign in, it also carries your backup.
  • Advertising ID / Android ad services — added by Google's ads SDK; controlled by your consent and your phone's ad settings.
  • You can change any permission in your phone's settings; the app keeps working without the optional ones. The full list, with technical names, is in the privacy policy.
What information do you collect?

Your tasks, meetings, reminders, focus sessions and stats are stored on your device. They leave it only as a backup to your Zylos account, if you sign in.

  • Reminders are local notifications scheduled on the device.
  • No calendar-account access: the app never reads Google Calendar, iCloud or your device calendars.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects device and ad-interaction data under Google's policies, with Google's consent form where required.
  • Uninstalling the app deletes all of its data.
  • Details: privacy policy.
