Zylos Direct Message support

About Zylos Direct Message

Zylos Direct Message opens a WhatsApp chat with any phone number without saving it to your contacts. You type a number (and, if you like, a message); the app builds WhatsApp's documented click-to-chat link and hands it to WhatsApp, where you review and send. The app never sends messages itself. It is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta Platforms, Inc.

What you can do

Available for Android and iOS. The two versions handle data the same way, except where noted.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. Every feature of the app works without an account. A Zylos account is optional and only adds a cloud backup, so you can restore your data on a new phone.

  • Open Settings → Account and sign in with Google, create an account with email and password, or continue as a guest.
  • One Zylos account works across all Zylos apps; each keeps its own backup.
What is backed up, and how do I restore it?

While you are signed in, the app backs up: message templates; settings (theme, colour mood, language, preferred WhatsApp app, history on/off, last used country).

  • Never backed up: favourites (names and phone numbers); the history of chats you opened; the number and message you are typing; launch counter and ad timing.
  • Backups run automatically when something changed (at most every 10 minutes while the app is open, and when it goes to the background).
  • To restore, install the app on the new phone and sign in with the same account in Settings → Account; the app offers to restore the saved data. A guest account can only be restored on the phone that created it, so link it to Google first if you plan to switch phones.
How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your sign-in, your profile and every Zylos backup at once.

  • Without the app: go to apps.zylostechsolutions.com/delete-account, sign in with the same account and confirm.
  • Data stored only on your phone is removed when you uninstall the app (or use Android Settings → Apps → Zylos Direct Message → Storage → Clear storage).
  • Signing out is not deleting: your backup stays for the next time you sign in.
How do I turn notifications and quick actions on or off?

Occasional announcements (new features, tips) are sent to everyone with the app — never targeted at you personally. On Android 13 and later the app asks for notification permission once, from your third launch, and not again if you say no.

  • Quick actions: a silent notification with shortcuts into the app. Turn it on or off in the app's Settings → Quick actions in notifications.
  • Tips and reminders: occasional local tips about features you haven't tried. Turn them off in Settings → Tips and reminders.
  • To stop all notifications, turn them off for Zylos Direct Message in your phone's Settings → Apps → Notifications.
Why do I see ads?

The app is free, and ads from Google AdMob pay for it. Banners appear below the content on Home, Favourites, Templates, History, Settings and More apps; a native ad (labelled "Ad") may appear in a longer favourites list (after the 5th favourite). A full-screen ad may appear when you move from Home to Favourites or Templates (at most one per two such moves), and at most once per 4 hours when the app starts (never the first time). No ads while you type, while a chat is opening or when you come back from WhatsApp.

  • Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience (maximum ad content rating “PG”).
How do I change my ad consent or personalisation?

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and some US states), Google's consent form appears before any ad loads.

  • To change your choice later: Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices (shown where Google says privacy options are required).
  • You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads, and manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Which permissions does the app use, and why?

Notifications (Android 13+, optional) — Occasional announcements from us and local tips about features you haven't tried. Asked once; tips can be turned off in Settings → Notifications, and the app works the same without them.

  • Run at startup — Keeps scheduled tips after the phone restarts.
  • Network access — Loads ads from Google AdMob. If you sign in, it also carries your backup.
  • Advertising ID / Android ad services — added by Google's ads SDK; controlled by your consent and your phone's ad settings.
  • You can change any permission in your phone's settings; the app keeps working without the optional ones. The full list, with technical names, is in the privacy policy.
What information do you collect?

Numbers and messages you type are handed only to WhatsApp on your phone when you tap Open WhatsApp. The app never sends messages itself.

  • Favourites, templates and the optional history (off until you turn it on) are stored on your device. Favourites and templates are copied to your Zylos account only if you sign in; the history never is.
  • The clipboard is read only when you tap Paste number.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects device and ad-interaction data under Google's policies, with Google's consent form where required. Your numbers and messages are never passed to the ads SDK.
  • Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on the phone.
